Helen Fospero
Helen Fospero is an experienced journalist with years of live presentation under her belt. She's currently reading the news for GMTV, and has been a regular face on both Five and Sky News.
On Sky, Helen presents live rolling news, and has covered many breaking stories.
Helen lived in New York for three years as GMTV's US correspondent. She watched the towers come down on September 11th - and in fact was the only British TV journalist to witness the tragedy. She's still remembered for her live coverage from the day, and the subsequent war on terror. She got a world exclusive with the fireman who was pictured going up one of the towers minutes before it collapsed, and is still in touch with him today.
During her time in America, Helen travelled to more than 30 states for GMTV covering hard news stories and features. She fronted the Oscars five times, reported on the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and covered the Bush/Gore election campaign. Helen broadcast live from Al Gore's campaign headquarters in Nashville on election night.
Helen was also GMTV's showbiz correspondent for three years and travelled the world interviewing stars at their homes and on tour. She's as comfortable chatting to celebrities as she is grilling politicians and adlibbing over live news pictures from war zones like Afghanistan and Iraq.
As well as being an accomplished journalist, Helen is also known for her warmth and charm and is a highly professional corporate host. She's chaired conferences and major events in the UK and abroad for many top organisations including Barclays Bank, General Motors and PricewaterhouseCooper.
Helen has a daredevil streak. She's flown with the Red Arrows and looped the loop at the controls; ridden horseback to the bottom of the Grand Canyon to camp with the Haversupai Indian tribe, and ridden motorbikes at a motocross meet.
She's also a founder patron of The Nicholls' Spinal Injury charity, along with Gordon Ramsay and Sir Alex Ferguson. Helen helps raise funds for research into spinal injury. And she supports St Andrew's Children's Hospice in her home town of Grimsby.
Helen has two young children and is married to an American TV producer. They live in London.
